Where is the band going?
The band is going to St. Louis to compete.
When will the trip take place?
The trip will be April 30-May 4, 2003.
How much will the trip cost?
The trip will cost $225 (you may begin to send trip money on February 19th-checks
payable to Shades Valley High School Band).
This will cover lodging (quad occupancy) at the hotel, the bus trip, a day
at Six Flags, visit at the Gateway Arch, a tram ride to the top of the arch,
a visit to the train station (like Underground Atlanta), a meal at the Hard
Rock Cafe, anda Gateway Riverboat Jazz Cruise.
When is the band leaving to go to St. Louis?
The band will leave at 11 PM on Wednesday night (April 30), sleep on the bus,
and arrive in St. Louis on Thursday morning.
When will the band get back to Shades Valley?
The band will board the bus late Saturday night, drive
all night, and is scheduled to return to Shades Valley early (sometime around
6 AM) on Sunday (May 4).
When will the bands be performing?
We are not sure yet..
How much money should my child take? (More details on meals later)
Your child will be need to pay for 9 meals (Thur. breakfast, lunch,
and dinner / Fri. breakfast , lunch and
dinner / Sat. breakfast, lunch and dinner). As you know, eating out
is expensive. At least one of the meals will be at 6 Flags. Hamburger, fries
and a drink can easily cost $15 at a park so plan accordingly. They will also
need a little for souvenirs and incidentals.
Who is eligible to go on the trip?
Students enrolled in the band program for the second semester of the 2002-2003
school year (who do not owe money for cookie dough or fruit).
What about chaperones?
The total price per chaperone is $225. Adult rates are based on double occupancy
but you may request a single room at an increased price of $450. Please note
that the request for a smaller number must accompany your initial deposit.
When
will the band return?
The band will board the bus late Saturday night, drive all night, and is scheduled
to return to Shades Valley early on Sunday (May 4).
What transportation system will be used?
The buses will be Adventure Travel buses.
How long will the trip take?
The 505 mile trip will take approximately 8 hours.
