The Central Board of the Alabama High School Athletic Association held its annual spring meeting March 21 at the State Office in Montgomery. The board approved the school reclassification for 2002-03 and 2003-04 along with the alignments for football, basketball and baseball. The board designated weeks 1, 5 and 10 of the football season for non-region games only. That means that the schedule must provide for non-region games to only be played on the first, fifth, or tenth week of the season. This will allow for a more flexible schedule while providing a mid-season break from the rigorous region schedule.
