The Common Sense Guide to Band
Camp
|
Things to do soon:
|
Get acclimated
to the heat: The week before Band Camp starts, begin to spend more
time outdoors.
|
Get hydrated:
The week before Band Camp starts, drink plenty of water.
|
Get a container for water: Make sure you have
a container for water and/or a small cooler to bring water in. It
is NOT
a good idea to freeze the water-often it does not melt
before your child is badly in need of a drink. Every person needs
his/her own water. NO SHARING.
Sharing takes too long and is not healthy.
|
| Make sure you have cool clothes.
(Cool as in "lack of heat"--not as in "fashion"
: ) |
This will probably
include a (white) T-shirt, a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen,
shorts, socks, low top tennis shoes, and/ or bug spray (if you
feel the need).
|
This will NOT include any
black clothes (they draw heat to you), high top tennis shoes,
Birkenstocks, sandals, flip flops, long pants, jewelry, or perfume.
